Guam - The Guam Election Commission is preparing for Decision 2012.  Executive director Maria Pangelinan says candidates are already picking up their packets that must be turned in by July 3.  There are six races that will be on the ballot this year, including the Consolidated Commission on Utilities, the Guam Education Board, Public Auditor, legislative, mayors and vice-mayors and the delegate to Congress.

Pangelinan says the Commission is also working to comply with new laws that have to be implemented this election season.  That includes policy that required the agency to review Guam law. Pangelinan told KUAM News, "What we've done is the commissioners have gone through Title III, and we're I think on our fifth and final draft right now."

The GEC has since transmitted it to the Guam Legislature. Pangelinan says the Commission is also working to ensure residents are able to sign up for the Decolonization Registry during the elections this year.  The Commission also has its website to keep the public informed about all things election-related.
