Guam - The Attorney General's Office Child Support Division garnished $2.8 million in arrears from the bond that paid out tax refunds. The amount was garnished from non-custodial parents, and so far 36% was distributed to custodial parents. Deputy Attorney General Bobbie Cepeda says there are several challenges that prevent the release of the remaining $1.8 million collected.

"Some addresses are incomplete or inaccurate, so we just urge custodial and non-custodial parents to contact our office or email us or call us to update their addresses," Cepeda told KUAM News.

She adds the funds still owed may be held for up to 60 days until the division can accurately review the claims made by spouses of the non-custodial parent who filed jointly for their portions of the tax refunds.
