Guam - Jury selection and trial is scheduled to get underway Monday in the case against former Senator and Guam Federation of Teachers Union President Matt Rector. It was in February 2010 Rector was arrested by GPD Criminal Investigation Agents on two counts of unsworn falsification.

The charges stemmed from Rector's failure to disclose a burglary misdemeanor conviction when he applied for gun and concealed firearms permits with the Guam Police Department. Rector also didn't disclose the conviction when he ran for Senator and when he applied for a job as a teacher with the Department of Education.

In January 2010 Rector resigned from the Guam Legislature. He is scheduled to appear before Superior Court Judge Michael Bordallo Monday at 1pm.
