Guam USDA reps not in 259 closures

In an effort to save $150 million a year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced its intent to close 259 offices, labs and other facilities.

Guam - In an effort to save $150 million a year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced its intent to close 259 offices, labs and other facilities. Guam's USDA offices however aren't on the chopping block. USDA administrator Joe Diego tells KUAM News the office on Guam actually received more staff to assist with the military buildup and there are no plans, at this point, to close the offices on the island. 

The closures will impact the USDA headquarters in Washington as well as operations in 46 states and 7 foreign offices.
