Guam - The Sustaining Appropriate and Fair Environments (SAFE) subcommittee think tank met today to discuss ways to strengthen safety for those of different cultures, language, and abilities. Chairwoman Senator Aline Yamashita said, "It'll benefit our whole community because the first responders are the people who step into help our families, we have a better sense of who each other is and strengthen processes and practices to make sure that we are all safe."

She added, "We have all the policies we need we have a lot of laws sometimes the creation of another law is not the answer, but we admitted today that training, awareness, accountability, connecting, leveraging resources, those are all very real outcomes as a result of our conversation today."

The subcommittee is part of the Legislative Committee on Public Safety, Law Enforcement, and Safety, headed by Senator Adolpho Palacios.
