Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection agency found 16 beaches that are polluted above the accepted bacteriological standards this week. These waters include Tanguisson, Dungca's Beach, East Hagåtña Bay – Alupang towers Beach, East Hagåtña Bay - Trinchera Beach, Padre Palomo Park Beach, Asan Bay Beach, Piti Bay, Santos Memorial Park, Togcha Beach - near Namo River, Bangi Beach, Nimitz Beach, Toguan Bay, Merizo Pier at Mamaon Channel, Inarajan Bay, Talofofo Bay, and Tagachang Beach. Guam EPA warns that any activity in these waters may result in illnesses such as sore throat or diarrhea. West Hagatna Bay is also closed due to the fractured outfall at the Hagatna sewage treatment plant.
