Guam - While Arizona senator John McCain has continuously called for cuts for the military buildup related projects for Guam, saying the buildup is "on pause", Senator Judi Guthertz says the death of North Korea's leader reinforces the need for a strong American military force positioned here on Guam. The military buildup chair wrote to McCain saying Guam is in missile range of North Korea and they have previously announced that Guam is a potential target.
Guthertz pleaded to the senator, "Please do not abandon Guam and the Western Pacific and do not endanger America by thoughts of saving a few dollars. It is time for you to reconsider your pause strategy for the Guam buildup."
