GPA authorized for renewable energy contract

Guam - The Public Utilities Commission has approved the Guam Power Authority's request to enter into renewable energy contracts. GPA general manager Joaquin Flores says Guam will be able to enjoy solar energy within two years and wind power within three years.
A system impact study is currently ongoing. It will outline the requirements that must be met by two firms to tie into the islandwide power system.
