By KUAM NewsGuam - The Department of Defense meanwhile is reassuring its commitment to the Guam Realignment Plan but at the same its looking for assurances from the Government of Japan that its moving forward with the Futenma Replacement Facility, specifically that it will submit an environmental impact statement by the end of the year.
In a statement issued today by Department of Defense Undersecretary Michele Flournoy she writes that Guam remains an essential part in the United States Pacific Strategy and will work to address Congress' concerns.
