Guam - With the government's mass distribution of more than $180 million in tax refunds to thousands of island residents, a hearing will be held on Tuesday to determine the status of a civil suit filed by Rea and Jeffrey Paeste and Sharon Zapanta. Earlier this year the residents filed a class action lawsuit asking the court to order the Government of Guam to pay tax refunds.

The government has moved to dismiss the suit claiming a class should not be certified because every taxpayer's case is different and that the case wasn't ripe for judicial review.  A preliminary pretrial conference is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 10am in District Court Magistrate Judge Joaquin Manibusan's chambers.
