Guam - There's a chance F.Q. Sanchez Elementary School could open its doors again.  But this time as an academy charter school.  Speaker Judi Won Pat introduced Bill 384 that would extend the deadline to submit petitions to establish the charter school.

Earlier this year the Guam Education Board voted to shut the campus down to save money.  The bill makes F.Q. Sanchez eligible to be converted next school year utilizing the Chamorro Language Immersion Program.  The measure also requires that $100,000 set aside in public law be used to operate the charter school.

Public comments will be heard on December 5.
