Guam - A bid for four new ambulances should be awarded in the next few weeks. Bid packets submitted by several interested vendors were opened by the general services agency today and will undergo review. The Guam Fire Department is looking to purchase four new medics utilizing a $500,000 grant from the Department of the Interior.
GSA chief procurement officer Claudia Acfalle says there were some concerns regarding the bid specifications, but those were addressed before the bid opening.
Meanwhile, GSA is waiting on the ownership papers for two surplus ambulances from the military that will be transferred to GFD.
