Guam - The Guam Environmental Protection Agency is giving island residents more time to comment on the proposed Guatali Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Facility.  While this Friday was the deadline, the comment period has been extended by 15 working days at the request of an individual who attended the public hearing earlier this week.

GRRP is proposing to build a landfill and waste to energy facility in Atantano, Santa Rita.  According to Guam solid waste disposal rules and regulations, the Guam EPA must conduct a comment period on the permit application for at least 45 days.  The proposed permit and documents are available for review at th EPA's office in Tiyan, the Santa Rita Mayor's Office, the Agana Library and at the University of Guam's RFK Library.

The new deadline for comments is now Tuesday, December 13.
