Complaint says parolee tried to steal gun
by Nick Delgado
Guam - The Guam Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division is looking into a complaint that an individual on parole attempted to steal a gun from GPD's evidence Section. GPD Spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia confirms that several individuals assisted the department with moving evidence from Tiyan to the crime lab in Mangilao.
KUAM News has learned that one individual who was assisting with the move attempted to steal a handgun. GPD isn't confirming who was involved in the move, but the Department of Corrections confirms that a parolee who was involved with the transfer of items was removed from the Community Service Worker Program following allegations of tampering with GPD property.
The identity of that individual has not been released and GPD has not explained why parolees and other community service workers were being used to transfer evidence for the police department.
