Guam - Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo, who is a co-sponsor of legislation that would increase Compact impact reimbursement from the current $30 million to $185 million per year, reacted to a General Accountability Office report, saying the current structure of the Compacts is unsustainable for the affected jurisdictions. Bordallo added that she will urge the House Committee on Natural Resources to hold an oversight hearing to further examine the recommendations contained in the GAO report.

Guam's delegate says she hopes the report will provide congress with the guidance needed to make policy decisions and find ways to reduce the burden on local governments and increase federal assistance to jurisdictions like Guam.
