Guam Regional Medical City site blessed
Guam - The Guam Regional Medical City continues to move forward with the new hospital, following the Guam Land Use Commission's conditional use and height variances approval, as a site blessing and official project launch was held today along Route 3 in Dededo.
Guam Healthcare and Hospital Development Foundation president and chairman Peter Sgro says this new hospital is not just about healthcare, but it also creates significant economic opportunities. Sgro said, "And this is a state of the art hospital. I've been fortunate enough to see the design process, just listening in on what type of equipment will be purchased, and it's going to allow a lot our people to stay home and not have to leave Guam, and this is what our people deserve."
He adds that based on current timelines and permitting processes, an official groundbreaking is set for February 2012 with its official grand opening in 2014.
