Guam – The Judiciary of Guam could be getting some much needed help if legislation introduced by Senator Adolpho Palacios becomes law. Bill 366 is relative to the appointment and duties of magistrate judges, and would ensure that residents continue to have timely access to basic court
services. The measure builds on existing law that authorizes the Judiciary to employ magistrate judges to supplement the work of full time Superior court judges. Palacios states the bill clarifies the duties of magistrate judges as their work involves preliminary matters that may otherwise require the time of a full-time judge.
