Guam - In memory of late senior vice president and regent manager John K. Lee, Jr., First Hawaiian Bank has contributed $25,000 to establish a scholarship in his honor. According to FHB senior vice president regent manager Laura Dacanay, Lee dedicated 40 years of his life to the bank as well as 20 years with the Guam Community College's board of trustees.
"First Hawaiian bank has been a strong believer in education and it's always been a strong vision of John's," said Dacanay. "We want to be able to recognize him and all that he's done and we want this to be a lasting legacy of his."
Starting in Spring 2012, a $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to one full-time GCC student based on their academic achievement, community service involvement, extracurricular activities, and financial need.
