Guam - The board of trustees for the Guam Memorial Hospital has selected Lawrence Schindler to be the agency's new CEO/administrator. Negotiations for his salary and benefits will occur this week while Schindler is on-island visiting the Tamuning facility and meeting with management, medical staff and Calvo Administration officials.
He is currently the director of operations and business development at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and leaves on Saturday morning. Schindler told KUAM on Monday he has not yet made an official decision on the job as he waits for a formal offer from the GMH board.
Healthcare Committee chairman Senator Dennis Rodriguez, Jr. expressed concerns that the board is looking to hire an off island individual for the job.
