Guam - Although it merged into the Department of land Management in early October, the Chamorro Land Trust Commission is continuing to move forward with addressing several delinquent cases of properties throughout Guam. Land Management director Monte Mafnas says last month, the CLTC received a $120,000 cashier's check from Global Recycling and J.R. Towing for rent collection.

Mafnas says this is part of the CLTC's goal to move forward with bringing in much needed revenue to enable the agency to fulfill its mandates. "Our delinquency list is diminishing, our receivable list has been slowly diminishing so we appreciate working amicably and civilly with the licensees and lessees," he added.

He adds CLTC is expecting another $100,000 payment soon from IBC for back rent. Meanwhile, he is working on several ongoing cases regarding CLTC properties from Agfayan Incorporated in Dededo and Coco Recycling in Barrigada Heights. Inclusive of these issues, Land Management has finally found space for the Guam Ancestral Lands Commission to move from its Tiyan location to the Land Management offices in the ITC Building in mid-November.
