Guam - Two years since starting the group, We Are Guahan representatives spoke before the Rotary Club of Tumon Bay today regarding its role within the community and several of its accomplishments. We Are Guahan organizer Cara Flores-Mays says the group has taken information that the public otherwise wouldn't normally read or have the time for and break it down to simpler terms for better understanding.

However, the group still faces misinformation that is presented to the community regarding Guam and the Department of Defense. "We're here just to share what we're doing, what we're about and hopefully to make some friends, clear up misconceptions and help people really understand what We Are Guahan does," she said.

She adds the group has tackled many issues including providing educational materials, handling the Pagat lawsuit, conducting its heritage hikes and the Apra Harbor tour.

We Are Guahan will next launch its gaps scholarship program for high school juniors and seniors.
