Guam - More than a thousand people showed up to today's job fair hosted by the Guam Department of Labor and the Guam Contractors Association. It's the second islandwide job fair hosted by DOL this year.

Leah-Beth Naholowaa, director of the agency, told KUAM News, "I know there's a lot of folks who have been laid off and have been retrenched or whatnot. This is an opportunity for them to come by and check out what's out there.

According to the latest figures the unemployment rate on Guam is 13.3%, Naholowaa believes that number will increase because of recent layoffs in the private sector.
