Guam - Every year there are more than a thousand cases of family violence reported on the island, and soon, thanks to the passage of Bill 195, repeat offenders will be publicized on the National Domestic Violence Registry. According to the deputy director Lyn Twyman, the increase in online dating and social networking is encouraging such violence.
She told KUAM News, "In order to help combat domestic violence, we have to stay up with what's happening, technologically speaking. Because if we don't, we're going to continue to lose the battle."
The central database will be spearheaded by the Office of the Attorney General.
