Guam - The Guam Girl Scouts named First Lady Christine Calvo the honorary president of Guam Girl Scouts and honorary chair of their Cookie Program. Last year's top sellers were also recognized.
According to 17-year-old Kalani Crisostomo, top sellers sold more than 800 boxes each, telling KUAM News, "Girl Scout cookies are more than just delicious treats sold by Girl Scouts - they are a famous part of a program in which we learn a lot. We learn goal setting and decision making, we learn money management, we learn people skills. We learn ethics."
The funds raised from cookie sales are used for service projects and fieldtrips throughout the year. Cookie pre-orders begin October 29. If you don't know a Girl Scout, call the Service Center at 646-5652.
