Guam - Aside from discussing the Port modernization and ratifying a settlement agreement with Watts Constructors, the port authority board of directors will decide whether there are enough resources to send staff on off island travel. The Port board previously made a decision to suspend all travel unless it directly related to the military buildup.

Board chair Dan Tydingco says presentations will be made for invitations to attend the professional Port Manager Program Certification Facilities Engineering Seminar next month in New Orleans, the Cruise Shipping Asia 2011 event in Singapore, and a technical working group meeting in Hawaii in December. Tydingco says no decisions have been made on whether any port official will be attending any of the travel opportunities as justification for attendance and a review of available resources to fund the travel must first be made.

The port board is scheduled to meet Thursday at 11:45 in the morning.
