Guam - The Navy's Explosive Ordnance Team safely disposed of a World War Two 5" round at the Asan Beach Park on Sunday night. Guam Homeland Security spokesperson Alyssa Benito says the ordnance had been transported from a residence in Agana Heights to the detonation site.

She said, "We received a call from police dispatch regarding a resident who came a cross a live ordnance in Channel 10 and brought it back to his residence, and so we advise the public that if you do come across a live ordnance to not pick it up and to report it to law enforcement."

Benito adds the ordnance posed no threat to residents nearby. The round was disabled and taken to Naval Magazine for disposal. The all-clear was given around 6:30pm.
