Guam - The Guam Animals in Need shelter is opening the Macon Grady Education Resource Center this weekend in Yigo. GAIN got a grant from the World Society for the Protection of Animals to create the center, which is named after a Dalmatian who endured significant abuse in a cage with no food or water. Macon was rescued by GAIN volunteers and has become the shelter's poster child for ending animal abuse.

GAIN president Cindy Bartels says the center will serve as a place to provide education to the community and school students who visit. She states, "The center will be a place for our community to come for answers regarding their pets, gather to learn and see presentations. The opening will be 10am-4pm we are hoping the community will gather with us and celebrate the opening! Everyone is invited!"
