Man crashes into pole, pulled from burning vehicle

Guam police highway patrol officers were activated this morning after a flatbed pickup collided with a concrete power pole along route 1 in Dededo.

Guam - Guam police highway patrol officers were activated this morning after a flatbed pickup collided with a concrete power pole along route 1 in Dededo. Police say the driver of the truck lost control, hit the pole and was knocked unconscious. The truck caught fire with the driver still inside. GFD spokesperson Lt. Ed Artero says the 911 call came in at 8:25am. He adds before emergency responders arrived, an two off duty fire fighters and two civilians helped pull the man from the burning vehicle. He was taken to GMH, however his injuries are unknown at this time. Police also closed off a portion of Route 1 northbound from the NCS intersection to Mobil as they cleared the accident site.
