Guam - A new request for proposal for four new ambulances is expected to be issued by the end of the week. A protest was filed in relation to the first RFP and a decision was made by the government to scrap the entire bid and redo it.

Acting Governor Ray Tenorio says the new RFP is still being drafted and should be out by Friday to get the process rolling again. "The fire department has made the specs on the RFP as vanilla as they can, they said we've gotten rid of all the objectionable language. We don't go through this process to get objections, we go through it to try and get the vehicles, we recognize there some problems to be fixed and we are working on fixing those problems," he said.

The RFP seeks four new ambulances that will be purchased with $500,000 that was made available from the Department of the Interior.
