Guam - Clean Your Closet benefits children in the Philippines. According to project coordinator Rodney Jacob the outreach first began 14 years ago in that country to help stop the vicious cycle of poverty there.
Only four years ago did the outreach come to Guam, and residents have been more than willing to lend a hand. "I always like to recognize the fact that Guam has to be the most generous community on the planet," he said. "The people of Guam have really, really supported this."
Jacob says donations should consist of children's books, toys, school supplies, backpacks, and children's slippers. All donations are sorted and shipped to Ateneo De Manila University's Center for Educational Development, where they are then distributed to over 400 public schools. The deadline to donate is October 29.
