Guam - Despite Mother Nature pouring down on the event, the Guam Visitors Bureau says the 24th Annual Guam Micronesia Island Fair was a success. GVB general manager Joann Camacho says despite the early closure on Friday due to the rain and muddy conditions, thousands came out for the event.

"It's more about our island and showcasing our air, our sea, and the land - so I think we need to keep it outdoors. It's just Mother Nature," she said.  On Sunday more than 1,600 runners participated in the Ko'ko Road Race, with the winner completing the half marathon in just over an hour.

With this year's fair out of the way, Camacho says preparations are already underway to make the 25th GMIF bigger and better.
