Fisherman drowns near Hagatna Boat Basin

Guam – An unidentified 59-year-old man is dead after drowning in the waters off Hagatna Friday. According to Guam Fire Department spokesperson Lt. Ed Artero, the emergency call was received around 4:30pm. Police say the man went fishing near the Hagatna Boat basin around noon, and hours later was found face down in the water by family members. Artero says CPR was administered en route to the Naval Hospital in Agana Heights. Joint Region Marianas Deputy Public Affairs Officer Coleen San Nicolas-Perez confirms the fisherman's death.
