Guam - Guam's vision impaired community celebrated White Cane Safety Day. The event recognizes individuals who are blind and their right to travel independently.

New Vision Guam member Colleen Taijeron is excited to celebrate her growing independence, telling KUAM News, "We're just looking for a fun day to advise the community and educate the community on what it is we can do, and that we are here and we still are part of the community."

According to Taijeron, New Vision Guam consists of over 50 members. The event was held today in Tamuning near the ITC Intersection.
