Guam – The Joint Region Marianas along with the Guam/CNMI state histories preservation office are accepting public comments for the Department of Defense public access plan. The public access plan will facilitate visits to cultural and historic sites of interest and significance located on DoD properties, and is required by the Guam and CNMI programmatic agreement associated with the Marine Corps realignment. JRM natural resources specialist Jennifer Farley states, "Community involvement is so crucial at this phase, as we draft a plan designed to balance access to cultural and historic sites on military installations with military operations, and
improve current procedures."
Comments will be accepted through October 24th. The public can download comment forms at the NAVFAC Pacific cultural resources information website: http://bit.ly/NAVFAC-GuamPAor the Guam SHPO website: http://www.historicguam.org.
