Guam - Island mayors are urging that funds mandated to help with ground maintenance in the public schools be released. It was an issue discussed during this week's Mayors Council of Guam meeting. Village mayors expressed disappointment because for the past two years the budget bill appropriated over $400,000 to the Mayor's Revolving Cycling Fund from the General Fund so mayors can pay vendors for school grounds maintenance services.

It's a problem those like Dededo Mayor Melissa Savares says needs to be resolved, as the lack of funds is leaving the mayor's staff to pick up the slack. Savares says the mayors plan to meet with the Department of Administration to find out why the funds have not yet been released.
