Guam - Following last week's heated Guam Chamber of Commerce exchange, United Airlines director of sales for Guam and Micronesia Quentin Koch spoke before the Rotary Club of Tumon Bay this week regarding its merger with Continental.

He says the merger will result in a potential economic benefit of nearly $58.5 million to the local community, noting, "As I talked about for the Guam Hub, we are adding the 2,000 seat per week, this is the largest capacity that we've done in the entire world. We added more seats to Guam than we added to China, to Europe, to South America to show our commitment to Guam as a hub and our commitment to the community."

He says due to the added seats, changes to the capacity of food and gas will be implemented and that several job statuses will remain the same. He added concerns over the continental one pass program are under review in regards to the merger resulting in the formation of the Mileage Plus Redemption Program.
