Guam - The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Marianas Chapter Guam held its October luncheon today at the Marriott. The DOD's defense information systems agency commander Colonel Kent Simon spoke before the group regarding DISA initiatives in the Pacific and establishing enterprise services.

DISA is currently working with the army to transition the Army's e-mail system into DISA's enterprise services. "Guam with Joint Region Marianas as well as an Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps presence, and I suspect probably a coast guard presence too clearly are users of some of the enterprises services we currently provide and potential users of enterprises services in the future. So a big part of me being here is to help the agency identify what the operational commanders priorities are on Guam," he said.

He says DISA has transitioned close to a 100,000 Army users around the world into the enterprise. He says due to Guam's small terrain, it may provide an advantage for DISA to implement the services.
