Guam - The Governor's Office with The Graduate School based out of Hawaii hosted a leadership and financial management training for cabinet members. Excellence in Government Accountability and Performance Practices CEO and Graduate School instructor Stephen Morgan says Guam is part of many changes happening throughout the government in the U.S. mainland and now is the time to recognize the need to improve performance measures in order to do a better job.
He said, "The training focused on leadership, but it's really focused more on skills, tools and techniques that managers need to make sure they know for sure what programs that they've got, they know what the expectations are for the program and they put in place, when I say controls I mean management controls that would help ensure that those program goals are accomplished."
The training is funded by DOI and continues for the next two days.
