Guam - The Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse will receive more than a half-million dollars that will assist the agency in preventing the island's youth from using alcohol, tobacco and illegal drugs. The $600,000 comes from the U.S. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
The local agency through the Peace Council will utilize the money to identify target goals and objectives and promote positive mental health and prevention of substance abuse through community collaboration and a series of village based meetings and focus groups to be conducted throughout the year.
