Guam - According to Adelup, Governor Eddie Calvo's trade mission to Japan is already proving to be successful. Within less than 24 hours of touching down, the Calvo Administration purports that some of Japan's largest and best-run companies are showing interest in investing in the territory.

60 executives representing companies ranging from those involved in construction to architectural and engineering firms to investment businesses participated in Guam's business presentations Tuesday. The governor's team presented information on tourism, the airport, utilities and infrastructure, the military buildup, and the governor and Senator Tina Rose Muna Barnes' Affordable Housing Program.

Meanwhile the governor met with Japan Defense Minister Yasuo Ichikawa. The two talked about the military buildup and assured each other of their support for it. The governor said he's grateful for the assurance adding there's been so much doubt over the past year that's come from a lot of rumor and conjecture. "We've secured support from the president and the Defense Department, now we've confirmed support from the most powerful defense authority in Japan."

Calvo added that the buildup is moving no where but forward.
