Lizama Pleads Guilty
Wearing a khaki Department of Youth Affairs uniform before Superior Court of Guam Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena, 17-year-old Zared Lizama pleaded guilty to 1<sup>st</sup> Degree Murder this morning.
Guam - Wearing a khaki Department of Youth Affairs uniform before Superior Court of Guam Presiding Judge Alberto Lamorena, 17-year-old Zared Lizama pleaded guilty to 1st Degree Murder this morning. The teenage defendant confessed that he and his co–defendants on March 8th, 2010 committed burglary and theft at Vincent Peredo's home in Yona. Additionally h confessed that when confronted by Peredo that they beat, restrained him and left him to die. The plea agreement strikes remaining charges against Lizama but at issue is if the charges will be dismissed with or without prejudice . Presiding Judge Lamorena informed Lizama that he still has a right to change his plea and go to trial. He faces life imprisonment, which means he could spend 25 years behind bars. He also faces a fine of up to $25,000. Lizama and Cal Jerome Delorie have a sentencing hearing scheduled for November 23rd at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Others charged in the case include Derrick and Darren Cruz, and Shayne Terlaje.
