Guam - The Guam Mental Health Planning Council will receive $237,000 from the Community Mental Health Services Block Grant for the next fiscal year. According to chairperson Esther Arca, the money will be used to transform the state of the mental health system on Guam.

"We…review the block grant and make sure it's dedicated to programs that promote the transformation of the mental health system," she explained.

The funds will be used to support resource centers for mental health materials for public or persons with mental illnesses and social and recreational centers for homeless with mental illnesses to socialize and cope with mental illnesses.
