Guam - Governor Eddie Calvo heads off-island Monday on a trade mission to Japan. Calvo saying outside the military buildup, Japan has been a significant contributor to the island economy for decades. "I'll be going to Japan, I'll be meeting folks in the private sector and government officials to focus on investment into our community, and it's not just tourism services, it could be related to areas also involved in regards to the military buildup and all other areas. Japan has a lot of technology and expertise in green technology, we're looking forward to going over there, presenting Guam as a good investment destination," he said.

Governor Calvo will be in Japan for a week and will be joined by a handful of his top economic advisors including Henry Taitano, his special assistant for social and economic affairs.
