Guam - The U.S. Marshals Service celebrated its 222nd birthday at the District Court of Guam this morning. U.S. Marshal for Guam and the CNMI Frank Leon Guerrero says the service was established in 1789, and originally had 13 U.S. Marshals commissioned at that time.

He says there is nearly one hundred U.S. Marshals across the nation today, saying, "We work together with the entire US nation, so activities here we are networked across the nation and responsible for this particular area and most especially the pacific island, but we operate 24/7 servicing the US courts."

He adds two deputy U.S. Marshals were also recognized today for their 25 years of service.
