Navy soliciting public comments on plans
Starting Thursday the Navy will begin a series of public scoping meetings to gather input on their proposed plans to conduct military readiness training and testing activities in our region.
Guam - Starting Thursday the Navy will begin a series of public scoping meetings to gather input on their proposed plans to conduct military readiness training and testing activities in our region, specifically in the Mariana Islands training and testing study area the military plans to conduct training and testing to include new weapons, combat systems and sensors.
The public scoping meets are part of the Navy's preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement to evaluate the potential environmental effects associated with those activities previously mentioned in the study area. The first meeting is scheduled for tomorrow at the University of Guam's School of Business in Room 129. Another meeting will be held Friday in Southern High School's cafeteria. Both meetings are from 5-8pm.
