Too late for Guahan Academy this fiscal year
According to Speaker Judi Won Pat, the charter school was not included when the Fiscal Year 2012 budget was passed but there is hope for next fiscal year.

Guam - It's too late for the Guahan Academy Charter School. According to Speaker Judi Won Pat, the charter school was not included when the Fiscal Year 2012 budget was passed but there is hope for next fiscal year.
She told KUAM News, "Maybe there has to be amendments to either streamline the process or make it direct, meaning it come from Academy directly to the Legislature. But tying into the department's budget, that wasn't done this year but we're hoping with the corrections we should not have a problem for next fiscal year."
Speaker Won Pat says she's met with chairperson for the Charter Academy as well as Guam Education Board members and the attorney general to review the proposal for the school.
