Guam - It's been more than a decade since Oceanview Middle School students have had use of their gymnasium. According to Department of Education interim superintendent Taling Taitano, the site's contractor, Z-4, is currently working on obtaining the necessary permits to move forward.

Taitano expects work on the gym to begin in a month. The gym was condemned after an earthquake shifted the building's already rusted support beams.

The project is anticipated to cost more than $850,000 that's been available in local bond money.
