Guam - Claiming he could make her a rich woman, David Salas allegedly offered to have a woman's husband killed in exchange for a cut of insurance money. Salas allegedly said he could have the man killed for $10,000 as long as he received a cut of $40,000 of the insurance payout. A woman told police that Salas had offered to have her husband killed so that she could receive his $200,000 accidental death benefit.
According to court documents, the woman wore a wire and met with Salas, who repeated his plan to kill her husband. When police arrested Salas, he claimed he didn't know if the man even had insurance, that there was no assassin and he never intended to go through with the plan.
Salas was charged with solicitation to commit murder.
