Senate includes $33M in funding outside the fence
According to Guam delegate Madeleine Bordallo the funding is critical to addressing social projects outside the fence and to prepare Guam for the Marines relocation.
Guam - Although the final version still has to be worked on, the Senate's version of the proposed 2012 defense bill allocates $33 million for the Department of Defense's Office of Economic Adjustment for civilian infrastructure improvements to support and sustain the military buildup in Guam. According to Guam delegate Madeleine Bordallo the funding is critical to addressing social projects outside the fence and to prepare Guam for the Marines relocation.
The Senate will still have to debate and pass the bill and then send it to conference with the House's bill.
