GovGuam health insurance contract signed
Guam - The GovGuam health insurance contract with Calvo's Selectcare has officially been signed and is a done deal. GovGuam is paying substantially less than what it paid last fiscal year with a savings of approximately 10 percent or $7,000,000.
The contract was penned by Lieutenant Governor Ray Tenorio, who said, "We signed the contract as soon as it came across my desk, it's been filed and everything is done. We're happy to say the employees, the retirees and the dependents will all be getting much more care, will be paying a lot less, and taking more in their paycheck home to their families."
The lieutenant governor adds this is part of changing the way GovGuam operates. He says this is the best deal in years and commends the negotiation team which took part in the process. Open Enrollment started Monday.
